Properties of Chondroitin sulfate sodium: 

Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate is white to off-white powder. Tasteless and odorless. It is hygroscopic and can absorb 16% to 17% water. soluble in water. Insoluble in organic solvents such as acetone and ethanol. The aqueous solution is viscous, and the viscosity decreases when an acid or alkali is added. It has ion exchange property and can form various metal salts with cations and precipitate. It is hydrolyzed with 5mol/L hydrochloric acid at 37℃ for 3h to lose sulfuric acid to form chondroitin. Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate is extracted from shark bone.
