Peppermint is a plant mint leaf with a refreshing taste. Annual herb, 10～80cm high, whole plant has fragrance. The scientific name of peppermint is Menthaspp, and the mint leaves are called mint leaves, salvia, sun grass, and thin crane. It is often used to make food or desserts, to remove the fishy smell of fish and lamb, or to match with fruits and desserts to enhance the flavor.
Menthol, organic compound, colorless acicular crystal or granular. It is the main component of essential oil of Mentha haplocalyx and Mentha haplocalyx. It exists in free and ester state. There are 8 isomers of menthol, and their aroma properties are different. L-menthol has mint aroma and cooling effect, racemic menthol also has cooling effect, and other isomers have no cooling effect. It can be used as perfume agent for toothpaste, perfume, beverage and candy.
