  1.   Introduction to the root extract of Cyanotis Arachnoides:

Beta-ecdysterone is a naturally occurring steroid belonging to the class of phytosterones, commonly found in herbs (dew grass), insects (silkworms) and some aquatic animals (shrimp, crabs, etc.). The study found that dew grass is one of the medicinal plants with more ecdysterone in nature so far. Ecdysterone used as a cosmetic raw material is a high-concentration active substance obtained by special treatment. Its chemical composition is single, and it is favored by major cosmetic manufacturers at home and abroad.

2.The  application of the root extract of Cyanotis Arachnoides:

β-ecdysterone acts on the human body to promote collagen synthesis, anti-arrhythmia, anti-fatigue; promote cell growth, stimulate cell division, eliminate cholesterol in the body; lower blood lipids, inhibit blood sugar rise; , and other physiological activities. It is a natural anticancer agent. It has the functions of lowering blood sugar and cholesterol, anti-arrhythmia, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidation and immune promotion. It has been reported that this product can stimulate the growth of breast cancer in mice and rats. This product can also be used in sericulture, which can promote silkworms to mature neatly and automatically cluster. It can also play a role in the control of agricultural pests and the reproduction of beneficial insects.

β-Ecdysterone is a natural steroid compound with insect molting activity. It is the active ingredient of traditional Chinese medicine such as Achyranthes and has various pharmacological activities. Ecdysterone has the functions of promoting nucleic acid and protein synthesis, protecting vascular endothelial cells and anti-oxidation, and has protective effects on experimental models such as myocardial ischemia, cerebral impact injury, and pulmonary edema. β-ecdysterone can effectively inhibit the apoptosis of endothelial cells caused by hypoxia; it can increase NO-2/NO-3 metabolites of NO in brain tissue, make blood vessels dilate, accelerate blood flow, increase local cerebral blood flow, and improve microcirculation , thereby promoting the absorption and dissipation of exudates, reducing cerebral edema, and reducing the volume of cerebral infarction.

3. The safety of β-Ecdysterone:

In 1998, the ICN biochemical laboratory tested the root extract of Cyanotis Arachnoides, and the data showed that it had to reach an ultra-high dose of 6400mg/kg to appear toxic. Therefore, adding the root extract of Cyanotis Arachnoides as the raw material of the end product will not cause harm to the skin according to the dosage.

More than 50 in vitro experimental studies have shown that the root extract of Cyanotis Arachnoides has no side effects and has a very low level of toxicity.

4. Uses and recommended dosage of β-Ecdysterone:

β-Ecdysterone is widely used in the cosmetic industry.

Use Application area Dosage

Cosmetics Cream, essence, lotion, etc. 0.5-1%

5.Storage of β-Ecdysterone:

Precautions for β-ecdysterone: This product should be stored at low temperature, and the content will be reduced when exposed to the air for a long time.

Beta-ecdysterone storage: Store in a light-proof, airtight container, refrigerated or frozen for long-term storage. The sample solution is freshly prepared for immediate use. If it needs to be prepared in advance, it can be divided into individual packages and stored in a freezer (below -20°C), and then taken out and thawed before use. Usually, it can be stored for 2 weeks.
